Happy Resurrection Sunday, folks! Today is indeed a celebration but it’s irreverent for us to celebrate the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ yet remain dead in sin or powerless in our lives as believers!
Statements like ”He got up with all power” should do more than tickle our religious fancy but it should serve as a reminder that we are loved and we too have power…power over sin, rejection, unforgiveness, poverty, sickness, and dysfunction! There is nothing that God can’t love you through and deliver you from! NOTHING!
So let’s all take a sober moment today to reflect on the true meaning of Jesus’ resurrection and assess our lives. What areas of our lives need to be resurrected? Have we made room for the power of God to work in and through our lives? What is God telling us to “get up” and do?
“And if the Spirit of him who raised Jesus from the dead is living in you, he who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies because of his Spirit who lives in you.” (Romans 8:11)
